SLO Shrink Wrap Bundler for Oval Bottles

The SLO is a welding-bar shrink wrap bundler with side infeed, built for oval, rectangular, and other shaped bottles that will not sit correctly on a straight inline collator — lotion, shampoo, personal care, household, and pharmaceutical ovals.

After fill, cap, and label, bottles enter from the side. Depending on speed and shape, they are turned 90° with Autopack’s conveyor system or a pair of feedscrews so the wide face is in the pack orientation you set. A pneumatic pusher collates the pattern, the welding bar seals a film sleeve (two rolls, top and bottom), and the tunnel shrinks it tight.

Single-track lines typically run about 13–22 packs per minute. Double and triple track raise output; Autopack lists multi-track frames up to about 50 packs per minute. That is slower than SLO CMOS (overlap, printed film, 45 cycles/min) — and that is the point: smaller, simpler, lower cost when you do not need print or CMOS speed.

How the SLO wraps an oval bottle

  1. Side infeed. Bottles arrive on a side-mounted conveyor after fill/cap/label — not straight-on like a SIM.
  2. 90° orientation. Conveyor turn or feedscrews rotate each oval so the major axis matches the pack.
  3. Collation. A pneumatic pusher builds the pattern on the HMI (2×3, 3×2, 4×1, and similar).
  4. Welding bar. Two film rolls form a curtain. The pack is clamped; the bar seals top and bottom, cuts, and remakes the curtain.
  5. Transfer. As the bar rises, the next collation is pushed in and the sleeved pack is displaced onto the tunnel belt.
  6. Shrink + cool. Recirculated hot air tightens the sleeve; forced-air cooling sets a stackable pack.

That 90° step is the whole SLO family. The weld bar is what keeps this model cheaper and shorter than SLO CMOS.

Why plants choose the SLO weld-bar

It is the oval machine without CMOS cost. Same infeed problem (rotation), welding-bar economics.
