SLM Multi-Lane Shrink Wrap Bundler

The SLM is a welding-bar shrink wrap bundler with side infeed and a multi-lane collator. Bottles, cans, and cartons that can accumulate are divided into lanes (optional lane divider / diverter), grouped, sleeved, and sent through the tunnel. Run single track, or tandem (twin track) so two packs go through the wrapper per cycle.

Single-track frames (45SLM / 60SLM) typically make about 12–28 packs per minute. Tandem frames (62SLM / 82SLM) are listed at about 35–50 packs per minute.

  • Take a fast filler or packer and still use a welding-bar sleeve (not CMOS overlap)

  • Split flow into multiple lanes so collation keeps up

  • Run tandem / twin-track — two bundles per cycle into one tunnel

  • Handle oblong, rectangular, or square bottles with a 5-lane diverter

  • Multipack beverage, grocery, or household bottles, cans, and cartons

How the SLM turns lanes into packs

  1. Side infeed. Product arrives from the side — not a SIM-style straight inline flight bar.
  2. Lanes. Optional divider / diverter splits flow (including oblong bottles into as many as five lanes).
  3. Collation. A multi-lane table groups the pack pattern (and, in tandem, two packs).
  4. Welding bar. Two film rolls form a curtain. The bar seals top and bottom, cuts, and remakes the curtain. Tandem frames use dual film (brochure: 2×270 mm or 2×370 mm rolls).
  5. Tunnel. Single or tandem packs enter the shrink tunnel.
  6. Discharge. 90° or inline outfeed.

Tandem is how SLM outruns a single-track weld-bar without becoming a CMOS.

Why plants choose the SLM

Lane math matches the filler. A 300 bottle/min oblong line is a lane problem, not a “buy CMOS” problem, if a welding-bar sleeve is enough.

Tandem without a second machine. 62SLM / 82SLM put two tracks through one wrapper and tunnel (~35–50 ppm).

Weld-bar cost vs. overlap. Two rolls, smaller footprint class than CMOS, still faster than 45SLM/SIM single track.

Diverter for non-round bottles. Optional — built for oblong, rectangular, and square bottles that will not lane themselves.

Stainless, quick changeover. Integrated HMI, Allen-Bradley on Holland-supplied systems, 90° or inline outfeed.

At a glance

  • Welding-bar shrink bundler with multi-lane side infeed
  • For product that can accumulate: bottles, cans, cartons
  • Single track or tandem (twin track)
  • Optional lane divider / diverter (up to five lanes on oblong/square bottles)
  • About 12–28 ppm single-track; 35–50 ppm tandem (Holland: up to 55 ppm twin-track)
  • Two film rolls, welding-bar sleeve
  • 90° or inline outfeed; optional curved infeed
  • Stainless construction
  • Custom infeed and discharge

Popular Options:

  • Lane divider / diverter — spec this when bottles are oblong or the filler is fast

  • Tandem / twin-track operation

  • Tear-strip perforation
  • Curved (90°) infeed

  • Aerosol tunnel
